No matter what walk of life you come from, visiting gay resorts in the USA will show you a new world of fun and acceptance.

Below are some of my favorite gay resorts. From Palm Springs to Key West and even Fire Island, one of these USA resorts will have exactly what you’re looking for.

Gay Resorts USA

Each gay resort is unique in a sense that some are more party centric, while others are more serene and relaxed. Some draw big crowds, while some are more clothing optional and intimate. The options are endless!

Whether you’re traveling solo or with a partner, make sure you check out some of the best gay resorts in the USA!

The USA is a vast country and home to many different types of climates. If you aren’t sure what area you are hoping to stay in while visiting the USA, make sure you check out my USA travel guide to help you narrow it down!

Tips For Staying At A Gay Resort

  1. Come with an open mind – Gay resorts pride themselves as being an extremely accepting place for people to feel relaxed and comfortable. Many gay resorts are clothing optional, and have an ‘anything goes’ vibe to them.
  2. Have fun – Gay resorts are all about feeling free and enjoying yourself. Whether you’re in the mood to party or enjoy a buffet, check out the spa, or what, do it! You aren’t there forever.
  3. Don’t spend your whole trip at the resort – Gay resorts are often located in fairly central areas with a ton to do. Don’t spend your entire vacation at the resort, as tempting as it may be! There are often a ton of fun activities and things to do in the surrounding area.
  4. Enjoy the pool areas – Almost any gay resort you stay at will have several pools and hot tubs for you to enjoy. Make sure you grab a cocktail, soak up the sun, and relax! I always make sure to pack flip flops for while I am in the pool area as well.
  5. Pack light – Again, most gay resorts are going to be clothing optional. If you aren’t comfortable with being fully nude while at the hotel, you will still be in a swimsuit most of the trip. Pack light! It will be warm, and there’s no point in carrying around more than you need. Make sure you pick up one of these… erm… safe good time kits before you leave. You never know when you’re going to need it. Safety first!

Gay Resorts in Palm Springs

Palm Springs is a large gay mecca and home to a lot of fun gay resorts. Whenever I find myself in the area, I like to stop in Los Angeles and check out some of the West Hollywood nightlife before I make my way into Palm Springs.

Palm Springs is located in the desert, so make sure you choose a time of year that suits you best. I love the heat, but it definitely isn’t for everyone!

During pride week, most of the Palm Springs gay resorts will fill up. If you plan on going during pride, make sure you book well in advance!

All Worlds Resorts, Palm Springs

All Worlds Resorts’ 2 buildings are located on Warm Sands drive, just minutes from downtown Palm Springs. They boast 6 pools, 2 hot tubs, and throw a fun Sunday pool party and BBQ very week!

If you are looking at a gay clothing optional Palm Springs resort, All Worlds Resorts have you covered. They sell daytime and evening passes to the public, so the pools are full of people to meet and hang out with during your stay!

If you are hoping for a quieter stay, I suggest asking to stay at the Annex. It doesn’t attract the crowds of men that the main building does, so it is a lot more tranquil even during peak season!

La Dolce Vita Resort, Palm Springs

La Dolce Vita Resort is a gay clothing optional Palm Springs resort. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the Palm Springs ‘gayborhood’, this resort boasts about 20 rooms and 2 beautiful swimming pools to lounge next to. The rooms are a little dated depending on which one you decide to book, but you probably won’t be spending much time in there anyways!

La Dolce Vita is home to a beautiful all male spa, and they offer a ton of great packages and services. A stay isn’t complete without at least one massage or facial!

Key West Gay Resorts

Key West is considered one of the most gay friendly areas in Florida, so it’s no surprise that you will find a plethora of gay centric activities and gay resorts here.

During pride month, you will find people from all over the world stoping by  Kew West. This means that you will end up spending a little more during peak season, as with most gay resorts.

Key West has a ton of fun activities to do throughout the year. If you’ve never been, check out this gay Key West guide before you plan out your trip. It is definitely more party forward than places like Fire Island or Palm Springs, so you will generally find a younger crowd here!

Island House, Key West

Island House is probably the most famous gay resort in Key West, Florida. Island house is an extremely popular gay resort in Key West. People flock to this resort from around the world for their laidback vibe and amazing parties.

Island house is located just a short walk away from many of the beaches, clubs, bars, and activities that happen in Key West, making it the perfect location if you’re looking for a more upbeat stay.

Their rooms range from fancier villa type rooms, to rooms that are pretty basic. If you’re hoping to save a few bucks, grab the cheaper ones here! You won’t be staying in the room much anyways, with so much going on!

Alexander's Guesthouse, Key West

Alexander’s guesthouse is a beautiful and quaint guesthouse located in the historic heart of ‘Old Town’, Key West. Alexander’s Guesthouse has a beautiful 3 storey design.

Alexander’s Guesthouse has a hot tub, friendly staff, fun happy hours, and an LGBT inclusive vibe. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is a lot quieter while in Key West, you have found your resort!

While the hotel was built in 1902, the property and rooms have been beautifully updated to reveal a ‘tropical paradise’. If you plan to stay here, do note that the resort is an adult only one, meaning you need to be over 21 to stay here!

Fire Island Gay Hotels

Fire Island is located just off the coast of Long Island in New York. It is home to two gay resort towns: Fire Island Pines and Cherry Grove. The easiest way to access Fire Island is by Ferry from Long Island. There is some walking involved, so make sure you pack your sneakers!

Fire Island has a very relaxed, almost ‘hippie’ vibe to it, despite being so close to the big apple. You will find no vehicles here, just boardwalks, beaches, and boys.

Below are some of my favorite Fire Island gay hotels, make sure you check them out if you decide to visit!

If you are looking for a nightclub and lounge on Fire Island, check out Sip-n-Twirl located in the ‘Pines!

Belvedere, Fire Island

Belvedere is considered the premiere gay resort on the Cherry Grove side of Fire Island. Like most gay resorts, it is clothing optional, so make sure you are over 18. Belvedere has a variety of different room options, ranging from a beautiful rotunda rooms, to a water themed room, and even an oak style one!

The rooms aren’t the only thing that are designed beautifully, though. The architecture on the building looks like something out of a London magazine! Ever corner you turn, you will find a new antique, fountain, or sculpture to look at.

This hotel has quite a wait list to snag a room, especially during peak season. Make sure you can get one before committing to it!

Fire Island Pines Retreat

Fire Island Pines Retreat is a relatively inexpensive and very open resort. You can book your vacations retreat based, with packages ranging from events and excursions, all inclusive, and more.

Fire Island Pines Retreat welcomes all members of the LGBT community as well as heterosexual people.

They boast free WiFi, free breakfast, a pool deck, sauna deck, panoramic deck, and a barbecue kitchen all included in the price of their many room options.
